The following notes describe the processing of EMBL release 80, and supplement the general details of the process in BrassicaDB Nucleotide Sequence Process.
Extracted Brassica accessions from the EMBL flat files
Loading the generated ace files into an empty database gave ...

Parsed UniProt Release 2.5, released 13/9/2004 (results). Built the SPTrEMBL database for the BrassicaDB BLAST compute.
Building the database with EMBL r80, post-r80 Brassica updates to r80u020 (16/09/04), the BBSRC SSR data, UniProt 2.5 and the BrassicaDB legacy dataset gives ...
Started the BrassicaDB BLAST compute. This time we will also BLAST the SSR flanking sequences against Arabidopsis TIGR v5.
The BLAST compute actually completed at 0458 on 19/9/2004. Processed the BLAST output to ace files and applied to database. Included the parsing of the new in silico mappings of Brassica GSSs, ESTs and SSR flanking sequences to Arabidopsis. Added the % sequence identity over the HSP to the data items.
Forged the intra-database protein object links and the links to the (frozen) Mendel-GFDb database.
Started copying the binary DB files to jicbio and UK CropNet servers.
Rebuilt database available from both servers.
